Introduction Statement: Who am I?
Hello, my name is Lyle Bryson, and I am a creator. From a very young age I have been influenced by the cultural diversity in my hometown of Durango, Colorado. Living in the southwestern mountains of Colorado has given me a set of fundamental values pertaining to the importance of connecting with the outside world, while giving me a sense of what it feels like to be connected with a tight-knit community. With this solid cultural foundation, I have found my roots as a creator in the mastery of exploring the new, and the ability to search for new ideas and inspiration wherever I go. These traits have been especially relevant in my pursuit of the arts, both in music and design, and has set a baseline for my exploration of new aesthetics and inspiration in the world around me.
From the beginning of my High School experience up to this day, it has been my personal objective to be perceptive: to engage with the world around me, to take interest in current events, and to adapt to relevant trends and styles while maintaining my own work ethic and opinions. Through my music project Mkondo Bahari, I have learned how important having a unique style is in today's art world, and have learned to celebrate the styles of friends I've made in the U.S. and beyond. Searching for those that I share interests with has given me a sense of the importance of ideas, both new and recycled, and has given me a chance to keep myself current and adaptable.
For my LINK Internship, I would like to expand upon my artistic foundation and learn from an individual/team outside of my area so that I can add to my ever-growing perspective. In my 2.25 years of high school I have already been largely influenced by artists and cultures unknown to me before, and I can't wait to see what the coming weeks and months have in store for me. My name is Lyle Bryson, and I am a creator. Let's get to know each other.
